Submitting a Proposal

NEW: we accept proposals for paper presentations and poster presentations.

Abstracts focusing on college students, classroom experiences, teaching strategies, study skills, student services, administrative services, and the use of technology in teaching and learning are invited. Abstracts will be evaluated on the basis of clarity, relevance to the conference, timeliness, and interest to those engaged in helping under-prepared students. Priority will be assigned to presentations that discuss ideas and/or methods, or indicate a high level of knowledge and unique treatment of the topic.

Both paper and poster presentations are limited to 50 minutes to accommodate as many topics as possible.

Paper Presentations: The conference is NOT an appropriate forum for reading papers. Please use adult learning techniques and plan on audience interaction in your program.

Poster presentations: The number of poster sessions is limited, so please apply early. Graduate students, whose proposal for a poster presentation has been accepted, may be eligible for a $100 discount in the registration fee.

All proposals are reviewed by the TASS Proposal Review Committee. The first proposal review deadline is August 27, 2007. The second round of reviews will take place from August 28, 2007-January 4, 2008 (final deadline). You will be notified shortly after you submit your proposal as to your acceptance status.
