Faculty Fellow in the Teaching & Learning Center

The Fellow in Teaching and Learning is a position that was created to encourage and support faculty as they integrate Collaborative Learning strategies into their courses.

The following support is available:

  • Two scheduled workshops dealing with Collaborative Learning
  • Three Collegial Conversations talking about Collaborative Learning
  • Three Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Workshops
  • Personal or small-group confidential coaching
  • Visits to classes
  • Resources including articles, research, tools for Collaborative Learning

Faculty Fellow, Barbara Stachniewicz

Barbara Stachniewicz is a Professor of English and has taught full time at Northern Essex Community College since 1993. She teaches Composition and Literature classes, both online and face to face.

She has taught Learning Communities for seven years and currently she team teaches a Learning Community that integrates World Literature and World Civilizations.

At NECC, she has chaired the Academic Affairs Committee, the English Department and the Learning Communities Steering Committee. Currently she chairs the Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Committee. Barbara has been an active (and enthusiastic) participant in professional development projects like Teaching in Community, the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning, and the Teaching & Learning Taskforce.
