Kelly
Lalonde: "It is not often that we get the chance to just
think about what we are doing. I appreciate being given this time and
hope many others will be given the same opportunity. I feel refreshed
and ready to try new things in teaching next year. TIC was a gift of
time to reflect and make connections. Thank you for that gift!"
Mariana Vilhena: "TIC is a
great opportunity to meet other teachers, discuss teaching and exchange
experiences with them. I benefited enormously from this experience!"
Carolyn
Cohen: "Partnering with Mariana was great and it turns out
that she and I have very similar teaching styles, which reaffirmed how
I teach.I really enjoyed my time in TIC and I am sorry it is over, but
I created relationships that will continue beyond the program."
Mark
Reinhold: "I really felt like I
connected with other people in my profession which can be hard to do
when you're isolated in a building no one ever comes to... I learned
a bit about my teaching styles and some things that could maybe use
some improvement. It was nice to go into another classroom and just
observe, not feel like you need to participate, to see how other people
craft their classes. Thanks for the opportunity to participate."
Steve
Russell: "The meetings probably took
on a life of their own. Perhaps that life was more important than the
agenda. The retreat was particularly well done. One thing that we all
need to help us to be better teachers, I think, is time: time to prepare,
to spend with our students, to think. The Saturday morning session particularly
drove that home, the quiet time especially."
